The insurance premium must be paid on the due date. Upon renewal, the annual premium is adjusted in accordance with changes in the index from the base index of the agreement. Vörður sends payment claims monthly to online banking services, or annually if the policyholder prefers to pay the premium in a single installment. It is possible to change the payment method via Vörður's online service, “My Pages.” There, policyholders can also choose to pay premiums using a credit card.

Insurance contracts are generally valid for 12 months from the date of acceptance of the offer and issuance of the insurance, and premiums are based on the annual premium. If the insurance is not terminated within that period, it is automatically extended.

What Is Covered?

Covers major loss or damage to your home's furnishings, due to fire, water, burglary, traffic accident, robbery, vandalism, collapse, storm, etc.

An optional addition that covers accidental damage to the general contents and personal effects of the home.

Comprehensive Household Contents Insurance

Pays compensation if the policyholder or other household members covered by the policy are held liable for damages they cause to others. 

Pays for damages for which you or others covered by the insurance are held liable.

Liability Insurance

Pays compensation for an accident during leisure time, while doing housework or studying.

Accident Insurance During Leisure Time

Pays compensation if a child under the age of 18 has to stay in hospital for more than 5 consecutive days.

Child Care Insurance 

Pays compensation for each day (24 hrs.) exceeding 5 successive days that the insured must spend in hospital due to disease or accident. 

Hospitalisation Coverage

Pays legal costs incurred in civil proceedings. 

Legal Assistance Insurance 

The insurance covers the costs if the insured person needs to change their circumstances due to violence in an intimate relationship.

Emergency Help due to Domestic Violence

Covers incidental expenses related to specialist support.

Trauma Insurance

Pays the value of a prepaid trip if the insured cannot make the trip and is not entitled to a refund.

Cancellation Insurance

Pays compensation for accidents, illness or death while travelling abroad.

Travel Medical Costs
